Water-borne bacteria can be as small as 0.02 microns, so only filters with very low micron grades can prevent bacteria of this size from passing through, but it’s important to note that the higher the grade, the better. Filtration is a continuous process, following from large to small, each layer of filtration needs to be able to remove the target stably, protect the next layer of filtration layer, make the effluent water quality meets the design requirements, and ensure the total amount of filtration. Too many filter stages may lead to the too high differential pressure and may also result in partial filter layers not being fully utilized.
